Døgnvill2023Nordic Artist’s Center, Dale, NO

Døgnvill is a site-specific dinner/installation created for the closing of my artist residency with NKDale. The Nordic Artist’s Center is located in Dale i Sunnfjord, a small fjord village in western Norway. The weather conditions and natural elements in and around Dale, as well as of the near by archipelago islands Vaerlandet og Bulandet were the main inspirations for this menue. It comprised of nine courses, including two intermezzi. I sourced everything locally from both found and purchased items. The Norwegian term døgnvill describes a state of disorientation, confusion and in extreme cases psychological distress or even madness caused by the extreme seasonal light conditions (midnight sun, polar night...).
